Heartland USA High School National Folk Style Duals 2024

The cost for this event is $185 per wrestler and includes singlet, shorts, shirt, crew sweat shirt and entry fee.

This will be Folkstyle only on Saturday and Sunday.

NEUSAW has created a HS division at the Heartland National duals in Council Bluffs, IA.   We are taking 2 boys and 2 girls teams to this event.  Top 2 places at our NEUSAW State Tournament in Grand Island will qualify for these national teams. 

Exception: The USA Wrestling High School folkstyle Nationals is on the same weekend as the NEUSAW State tournament this year.  Because of that, if a wrestler goes to the Folkstyle Nationals and places top 8 (All American), that wrestler will have the option to challenge either the 1st or 2nd place wrestler from the State tournament.  Any All-American(s) from the 2024 USAW folkstyle nationals,  who wish to challenge for a spot on the HND or VB teams may only challenge for 1 spot, and must be at the same weight class, plus three pounds, they wrestled at during the USAW Folkstyle nationals.  It will be up to the All American(s) to contact Matt Paeth or Fred Franklin to make their challenge known by March 19th.  This is the final due date for challenges.  Once that challenge is confirmed a wrestle off for that spot will be coordinated.  If the All American(s) challenges for the 1st team and wins then the previous wrestler that had the first team then moves down to the 2nd team.  The All American(s) only get a total of 1 challenge.  

Heartland National Duals will be on March 28th, 29th, and 30th. The cost for this event will be $185 and includes a singlet, shorts, shirt, hoodie and entry fee.

The same kids that qualify for Heartland will also be on our HS National team we are taking to the NHSCA Virginia Beach National duals May 25th-27th.  This is a Folkstyle tournament only.  No Freestyle.

Weight Classes for NEUSAW State, Heartland & Virginia Beach will be: 

Boys High School: (no allowance) 109, 116, 123,129,135, 141, 147, 153, 160, 168, 178, 193, 218, 288

Girls High School: 103, 108, 113, 118, 123, 128, 133, 138, 143, 148, 158, 173, 193, 238 (no allowance)

NHSCA Virginia Beach National Duals

25TH ANNUAL NATIONAL DUALS

May 25th - 27th  2024

VIRGINIA BEACH SPORTS CENTER - 1045 19th St, Virginia Beach, VA 23451

• Each Team Is Guaranteed 6 Matches During the First Two Days of Competition 

• Day Three is re-seeded into a Championship Bracket & each team that qualifies into Day Three will wrestle at least 2 matches.

The cost for the Virginia Beach National duals is $750 per wrestler and includes: Travel by Charter Bus, Virginia Beach national team shirt, Hotel rooms all nights (approx 6 nights), training at facility to be determined, Breakfast each morning, Dinner after weigh-ins, Dinner the first evening on the way home. All other meals will be at the wrestler's expense but there will be times we can pool the wrestler's funds together to buy meals such as pizza and sandwiches.  Lunch on your own each day and during travel on the Bus there and back.

All other gear such as singlets, shorts, and crew sweat shirt are the same as Heartland.  All wrestlers from Heartland will need to wear the same gear from that event.  If a wrestler doesn't go to Heartland and only goes to Virginia beach then there will be an additional charge of $160 on top of the $750.
