WEEK 10

Ben Burmester

High School: Pender

Tournament/Dual Name: D-2 District Tournament

Accomplishments: Ben won the 182 lb. division of the D-2 District Tournament in Oakland this weekend. He is undefeated with a 33-0 record this season and was the 171 lb State Champion for Class D last year.

Week 9

Dalton Meier

High School: Elm Creek High School

Tournament/Dual Name: Fort Kearney Conference

Accomplishments: Dalton pinned all opponents in the first period at the FKC Conference tournament en route to obtaining his 100th win despite only having 10 wins last year due to injury. He is a 2x state medalist. Dalton has victories over numerous highly ranked opponents throughout the season including Class C #1 Dexter Becker twice. His record is currently 35-1.

WEEK 8

Tyler Blevins

High School: Weeping Water

Tournament/Dual Name: Cedar Valley Invite/GICC Dual

Accomplishments: Tyler improved his record to 33-2 this season with a win over Class C #3 rated-106, Mitch Maginnis (GICC) by a score of 8-2 on Thursday night and captured the championship at the Cedar Valley Invite on Friday with a win over Class D #3 rated-113, Jesse Lammers(Cedar Valley) 9-0 in the finals.  Tyler was also voted the Outstanding Wrestler of the Cedar Valley tournament. 

WEEK 7

Joshua Eklund

High School: Friend High School

Tournament/Dual Name: Louisville Invite  01/21/12

Accomplishments: Went 4-0 on the day. In the finals match beat Drake Fanslau of Underwood IA who is ranked #1 in Class 1A at 160 pounds, 4-2. Was also voted Outstanding Wrestler for the Invite.

WEEK 5

Logan and Devin Dibbern

High School: Amherst

Tournament/Dual Name: Amherst

Accomplishments: Logan beat 2nd ranked and two time state finalist Colby Forbes of Plainview. Devin beat 2nd ranked Evan Aschoff of Plainview. Two freshmen brothers wrestled big at their home meet and made statements.

WEEK 4

Stevin Horrocks

High School: Hay Springs High School

Tournament/Dual Name: Newman Grove Lindsey Holy Family Dual Tournament

Accomplishments: Stevin, a sophomore at Hay Springs High School, finished the tournament 5-0 at 220 lbs with all five wins by pin.  Stevin is currently 13-0 with all 13 wins by pin.

WEEK 3

Cory Sebade

High School: Pender

Tournament/Dual Name: Elgin Pope John Tournament

Accomplishments: Cory went 4-0 at the Elgin tournament to take the championship at 152 lbs. He reached his 100th career win during the tournament and is undefeated at this point in the season.

WEEK 2

Wrestler Name: Joshua Eklund

High School: Friend High School

Tournament/Dual Name: Wood River Invitational

Accomplishments: Went 3-0 for the day. Beat Jake Brown-Central City, rated 3rd at 160# in Class C by a pin in OT in the semis. Beat Wyatt Schake-Amherst, rated 2nd at 160# in Class D by a score of 7-2 in the finals.

WEEK 1

Garrett Bowder

High School: Pender

Class: D

Accomplishments:  Went 4-0 at 126 lbs at the Creighton Invite dominating his bracket.  Defeated Colby Wolff of Stanton (Returning State medalist) in the finals 14-1.  Garrett is the returning state runner-up from last year.
