Accomplishments: District Champion—Defeated Colton Adams from Scottsbluff 9-8 in the finals.

WEEK 8

Brett Velasquez

High School: Bennington

Tournament/Dual Name: Woodbury Central Duals

Accomplishments: Brett went 5-0 for the day and capped it off by beating Jordan Bremer of Woodbury Central in the final dual of the day.  Bremer is ranked #1 in Iowa's class 1A at 113 for Woodbury Central, a three time state medalist, two-time state champ, ranked #16 nationally by InterMat, and had been unbeaten for the last two seasons.  Brett was down 7-2 at the end of the second period.  He fought back in the third scoring 6 unanswered points to win 8-7.

WEEK 7

Connor Shedeed

High School: Gretna

Tournament Name: David City Invite

Accomplishments: Conner defeated Shallenberger (Nebraska City) 4-2 and Kalkwarf (Crete) 3-2 in route to a first place finish. 

WEEK 6

Randy Null

High School: plattsmouth

Class: B

Tournament/Dual Name: Syracuse pin tourney

Accomplishments: Pinned way through the bracket -only plattsmouth athlete to score maximum points ,  Plattsmouth won the tournament 100th win -1st round Pinned #3C schuerman tri county in finals

Will  Schany

High School: Blair High School

Tournament/Dual Name: EMC Dual Tournament

Accomplishments: 8-0 with 6 pins, 1 major decision, and a 6-5 decision over Taylor McCalister, Plattsmouth.

WEEK 4

Joseph Hayek

High School: Seward

Tournament/Dual Name: Kearney High Invite 12/30/11

Accomplishments: First place. OW. Bracket included three state runner-ups, two state qualifiers.

WEEK 3

John Stajner

High School: NORRIS

Tournament/Dual Name: AUBURN INVITE

Accomplishments: John Pinned his way through the tourney including a finals pin over Class A #4 Hunter Greer of Burke.  The bracket included 7 winning records.  Also pinned Class B #6 Matt Clarke of Syracuse in a dual on Thursday.

WEEK 2

Brandon  Lincoln

High School: Blair High School

Tournament/Dual Name: Boys Town Invitational

Accomplishments: Brandon Lincoln earned his 109th career win with a 17-0 Technical Fall in the finals of the Boys Town Invitational over Quinten Dawes, Gretna (2011 State Runner Up @ 103).

Other wins @ Boys Town

Semi Finals:  11-4 Decision over Keygan Foster, Omaha Central (2011 State Runner Up @ 112)

2nd Round: Brandon led 16-3 when he pinned Elias Acosta in the 2nd Period.

1st Round: Brandon Built up a 14-4 lead before pinning Jake Bahr, Lewis Central in the 2nd period.

WEEK 1

Andy Janovich

High School: Gretna

Class: B

Tournament/Dual Name: Dan Hill Invite Harlan, Iowa

Accomplishments: Andy won his 120th career match over Kane Seeley from Perry, Iowa.  Seeley is the defending Iowa State 2A 215 champion with a record of 47-0.  Janovich won the match 5-2.
