Qualification Procedure

Qualification will follow the NEUSA Rules & Procedures (Rule 15)

C.    If there are wrestlers in the UWW U15, U17, U20, USA U16 or USA Junior that have placed at a USA Freestyle/Greco National or the Northern Plains Regional event during the current season, the wrestlers will earn points that may enable them a chance to qualify for a Freestyle or Greco National dual team.  Points shall be given separately in each style (Freestyle and Greco). The wrestler with the most points in any style in each Division will be allowed on the National dual team at whatever weight the wrestler chooses. However, that wrestler can be challenged by the highest place wrestler, per style, from the NEUSAW State tournament that has committed to be on the team. This challenge match will be set up by the National team leader. Both wrestlers must be within 4 pounds of the weight class prior to the challenge match.

In all cases the wrestler that loses the challenge match is still on the dual team and will be an alternate.  This alternate may get matches at the National event at the discretion of the National team leader.

D.    Head-to-head competition will always trump all points.  If any 2 wrestlers have wrestled against each other at the State, Regionals, or Nationals, in any weight class or division during the current season, that result will be used to determine who is on the National team.  If any 2 wrestlers have wrestled against each more than once, with different outcomes at any of the above-mentioned tournaments, then the wrestler with the most points shall be determined to have the number one spot on the National dual team.
